Meekness describes a condition of mind and heart whereas gentleness is more about how one conducts oneself in relation to others. In short, meekness is about attitude whereas gentleness is about actions. In this regard neither of the English words ‘gentleness’ nor ‘meekness’ actually convey the truest meaning of the Greek
